Belt pulley drive gear

Post by Marshal » Sat Jan 11, 2020 8:48 pm

Hi ,I have a Nuffield 342 ,I purchased a belt pulley for it , I've tried to fit it ,but the gears don't seem to match ,is there a difference between 3 and 4 cylinder belt pulleys ? Or where the pulley gears changed at some point ?

Hi I do not think there is a difference between the 3 and 4 cylinder tractors but there was a change between the original and the latter tractors think i read about the change in the nuffield story I can not look at my book as it is out on loan at the moment i have 2 pulleys in the shop and no one gets back to you with a better answer i will drag them out and take a picture of the gear ends Mike

There is a change point for the gears. Early and later gears differ in tooth shape, one is left cut, the other right cut.
